Lot Description

A GROUP OF JADEITE CARVINGS
Comprising twelve very well-carved jadeite animals; the monkey and rat carved from translucent light lavender and pale yellow jadeite; the tiger, horse and rooster carved in translucent icy material suffused with yellow to intense russet splashes and colour; the rabbit, goat and dog carved in translucent celadon material suffused with russet patches, brown colour and dark green patches respectively; the ox, snake, dragon and pig carved from opaque jadeite of rich green, intense russet, intense green and black colour respectively; representing the rebus 'Chinese zodiac' ( ), to the wooden stand, largest carving approximately 41.45 x 63.64 x 18.68 mm
With certificate KJ37546, KJ37547, KJ37548, KJ37549, KJ37550, KJ37551, KJ37552, KJ37555, KJ37556, KJ37557, KJ37560 and KJ37561 dated 20 August 2008 from the Hong Kong Jade & Stone Laboratory stating that the carvings are natural jadeite and no polymer is detected (12)
